Storing it so next year is easy
The thing that ruins preserved foliage is compression. A wreath stored under a box comes out crushed, and steaming won't fully recover it. Hang it, or lay it flat in the bag it shipped in.
Resin and metal want to be dry, nothing else. A basement is fine; a basement that floods once is not. Candles want to be cool and out of direct sun, or the dye shifts.
Label the box with the room it belongs to, not the contents. Next October you will not remember what 'box 3' means. You will remember 'porch'.
